Action-Fraction

Project Charter Authoring

The chartering of a project is often overlooked by businesses starting a project. But the lack of a charter is a key component in project failings. Action-Fraction will work with the project sponsor to devise a comprehensive charter before project commencement.

We use meetings, phone calls and Skype appropriately to gather the information required for the charter, within agreed timescales. The project charter will then be published and include:

• Business need for the project
• Business case
• Identification of the main stakeholders
• Project scope at a high level
• Critical success factors
• In-scope and out of scope items
• Project constraints
• Project assumptions
• Project manager role and areas of responsibility
• Communication plan
• Target project benefits
• Budget and spending authority

The aim of the project charter is to authorise the project commencement, to act as the primary sales document for the project and to serve as a focal point throughout the project.
